The people behind the experience

A small team brings together decades of experience in body-centered practice, movement, education and facilitation throughout the week

Lead facilitator

Daniel Christofferson

Daniel has worked in structural integration and body-centered education since 1996, with more than 50,000 hours of one-on-one client experience. Over three decades, his work and study have expanded beyond structural integration into somatic education, movement, meditation, energetics and ceremony.

These retreats create space to bring those different threads together in a way that isn't possible within his day-to-day practice. Rather than centering a single modality or prescribed path, the experience draws from decades of learning to create opportunities for reflection, embodied exploration and discovery.

Michelle Flemming

Michelle is the owner of Sanctuary on the Beach and host of the retreats, where she will also guide the morning yoga practice. Her approach to movement grew from her own experience using yoga to navigate anxiety, scoliosis and significant physical injuries, which led her to explore how movement could be adapted more thoughtfully to the individual body. She is a Certified Yoga Therapist and Board Certified Structural Integrator, and her continued study across bodywork and movement has shaped the Orthopedic Yoga approach she teaches today. Michelle has taught yoga for more than 25 years and trained teachers since 2005, bringing an adaptable, body-centered approach designed to meet people where they are.
